Fat of the land
Here’s what it means
The best and richest produce of the land.
Why the Bible says it this way
Fatness stands for abundance and high quality rather than animal fat alone.
An idiom is a familiar phrase whose meaning comes from the whole expression, not from reading each word by itself.
