Call someone’s name
Here’s what it means
To name, identify, appoint, or declare something about the person's character and role.
Why the Bible says it this way
Biblical names can carry meaning, so naming may do more than attach a label.
An idiom is a familiar phrase whose meaning comes from the whole expression, not from reading each word by itself.
