Cause the name to dwell
Here’s what it means
God chooses a place as the recognized center of his presence and worship.
Why the Bible says it this way
The expression protects against imagining that God is confined to a building while still affirming his covenant choice.
An idiom is a familiar phrase whose meaning comes from the whole expression, not from reading each word by itself.
