Stewardship is the biblical principle that everything belongs to God, and we are managers of what He entrusts to us. Psalm 24:1 declares, “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.” Nothing we have is truly ours—it is His, and we are to use it for His glory.
1 Corinthians 4:2 says, “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” God expects faithfulness in how we handle time, money, talents, relationships, and the gospel itself.
Jesus taught on stewardship in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), showing that those who invest what they have been given for the Master’s purposes are rewarded, but the one who hid his talent out of fear was rebuked and judged. Stewardship involves responsibility, diligence, and accountability.
We are also stewards of our bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, “You are not your own… therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” How we live physically matters to the Lord.
Luke 16:10-11 teaches, “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much… If you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?” Stewardship of money reveals the heart and readiness for deeper responsibility.
Good stewardship is not about how much you have, but what you do with what you have. It reflects trust in God, gratitude for His provision, and a desire to please Him.
